On February 14, 2020, Asier Polo performed Elgar\u2019s Cello Concerto<\/em> with the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of maestro Michael Sanderling. His performance at the Opera Palace in A Coru\u00f1a received a warm reception by the audience and critics, whose impressions we collect below.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cAsier Polo proved to be in a moment of intelligent maturity, of expressive balance, of controlled passion as it should so that nothing overflows, of immaculate technique (\u2026). His Elgar was of an admirable nobility (\u2026), exciting without any excess, respectful with the composer and the listener.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHis impeccable technique, considering the immense difficulties of Elgar\u2019s Cello Concerto<\/em>, gave that false sense of ease, a luxury only available to the greatest. But the best of his interpretation was the way in which he transmitted all the feelings and sensations contained in the score as well as containment just to the limit where passion abandons elegance to become scream and exasperation. Magnificent version, excellently accompanied by Sanderling and the orchestra, which obtained a great ovation from the audience.\u201d<\/p>\n
