Bach, his latest album.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Two new albums will\u00a0soon be released with the Spanish National Orchestra, conducted by Juanjo Mena: Joaqu\u00edn Rodrigo&#8217;s two cello concertos &#8211;<em>Concierto como un Divertimento<\/em> and <em>Concierto in modo Galante-<\/em>, as well as Alberto Ginastera&#8217;s <em>Cello Concerto no.2<\/em>, Op.50 (1980).[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;page-block-divide page-block-divide-2&#8243;][vc_column][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;page-block-center page-block-mar40&#8243;][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Career<\/h2>\n<p>Asier Polo studied in Bilbao, Madrid, Cologne and Basel with Elisa Pascu, Maria Kliegel and Ivan Monighetti, and also received guidance from J\u00e1nos Starker, Natalia Gutman and Mstislav Rostropovich in various masterclasses. He soon stood out as a promising young musician, winning the first prizes in Cello and Chamber Music at the National Young Musicians Competition in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Asier Polo has been awarded numerous prizes, and amongst others, the <em>Ojo Cr\u00edtico<\/em>\u00a0by Radio Nacional de Espa\u00f1a (2002), the Fundaci\u00f3n CEOE <em>Prize for Musical Interpretation<\/em> (2004) and the <em>National Music Award<\/em>\u00a0by the Ministry for Culture and Sports of Spain (2019). In 2009 he was appointed \u201cIlustre de Bilbao\u201d (Bilbao being his native city).<\/p>\n<p>He is regularly invited to be on the judging panel of international cello competitions, such as\u00a0the Dotzauer Wettbewerb (Germany), Carlos Prieto International Cello Competition (Mexico), Benedetto Mazzacurati Competition (Italy) and the Manhattan International Music Competition (New York).
