The Concierto de la Tierras Altas is dedicated to the great Basque cellist Asier Polo, who premiered it with the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Juanjo Mena, on 9^th September 2000 in the Palacio de la Audiencia, Soria, in one of the flagship events of the 8^th Sorio Autumn Music Festival.
